   This should be the first photo.  Favorite spot of all the family.

   Joe  was eating, so unable to smile.  The gluten free cake made by Kristen was a big hit.  I made carrot cake and brought out the last of the plum upside down cake I made for St. James.  Many plates traveled out of MacKenzie Acres. We had another table in the other room. May need two in there for Christmas.
John MacKenzie  made ribs which were a big hit with meat eaters. I made crab quiche, and veggie quiche, both appreciated. Lots of veggies. Meagan made a great veggie dish. I quickly grabbed some of the red peppers for  the soup I made the next day.If Joe knew what was in the soup he would have refrained from enjoying its deliciousness. e.g. I added the left over guacamole dip, veggies, salad mixture including kale. I also had beets I was going to toss in the compost but instead, into the Cuisinart.  Delicious!
Liz made a great salad. My oven roasted asparagus were a hit. James made his delicious stuffed peppers. Yum. Also delicious deviled eggs from Kristen

We are keeping the table up until Christmas. It was the idea of Joe and will drive me a little crazy until Christmas when I will be glad that it is ready for action.
I found some rib bones on the deck complete with a fork and plate. Other than that, pretty neat. Deb was a big help with dishes. All were wonderful.

I almost forgot. I made French bread. We also had tray of organic cheese and some nasty but delicious Italian meat.  Moderation is the key. Card table in corner was filled with gluten free snacks including popcorn.
P.S. I don't care if anyone reads this, I just want to remember what I served. Also had delicious eggplant dip which I would've added to soup but Liz loved it and it traveled to West Seattle.
Forgot to mention pasta salad and marinated vegetables. ( probably didn't need) Also had big bowl of black seedless grapes. (big hit)  I forgot to put out the Satsuma oranges.

Coulon Park Colors

Mike has been telling us to get over to Coulon Park before colors have been blown away.

We finally made it over there yesterday and we were not alone. The park was filled with people holding cameras, taking photos of lovely women in front of lovely trees.
The ground was filled with leaves but I managed to get a few good shots.

Congratulations Deb!

We celebrated the birthday of Summer yesterday.
We also had a chance to congratulate Deb for the unexpected award she received at event. Deb was the keynote speaker and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for her work.

More on MacKenzie Acres

James and Meagan were here for a few very productive hours helping shape up our place.
They cleaned all the moss and leaves from our roof.
That was a great accomplishment in it self but they moved on to Project dump truck. project.
The dump truck  that we need to move, is now free of several trees that had fallen alongside.
Meagan pointed out that another tree was actually growing from the bumper of the truck. I think it will stay when we pull the truck on to our property. Nature fascinates me!

Another project was cutting down the Mission fig tree that was dead as a doornail.
As James began to saw the branches I said, " It is beginning to look like a sculpture. We should leave it up. James, Meagan and I agreed and waited for Joe to come out to check out the tree. He was in agreement and James went to work to improve the sculpture.  He suggested we hang some bird houses on the branches. I scoured the property and found several. James attached them to the branches. We need one more item on a naked branch. Maybe bamboo chimes.
It is so charming. I wish I could see it from the kitchen window but it is in the field.

P.S. Coyote in the yard this morning. I just happened to catch a glimpse of it going around the trees.
I told Joe to look out but it was gone in a moment tearing down the trail Meagan improved last summer.
