Memories of the Southwest 1996

One of our favorite trip was to the Southwest. Interesting and beautiful country. I found a few photos to share. I found two albums so there will be more later. We were ther from May 20 to June 10.

Wild and Lovely

Some of the flowers seen at Cape Perpetua this summer.

A Close Call

Driving up snake hill near our home, a car was headed towards me in the same lane.
Suddenly, after realizing  it was the wrong lane, the driver  swerved  into the correct one.

It happened so fast, I didn't have time to get nervous, but now it is a different story. How many times do accidents happen that could be avoided because of carelessness?

I am  thankful.

Another productive Day

I think tomorrow will be a do nothing day. For some reason I had all kinds of energy today in spite of the fact that my sleep was lessened by thoughts over which I have no control.

Steve was hit by a truck while riding his bicycle. This happened yesterday afternoon.
He called this morning to let us know his x-ray showed no broken bones.

Maybe that is why I had this sudden burst of energy. I was very happy that he is only bruised.

So I prepared more filled peppers and baked 3 loaves of pumpkin bread.

A Change of Subject.............Spiders

In order to walk into the back yard we have to go through four different spider webs. In order to allow them space, we walk around the house. Difficult to get a photo where sun wasn't in the way.

We're still experimenting with our Food Saver. Not sure this photo shows the deliciousness of this dish.
