Morning Surprise

This is a first for MacKenzie Acres.   We had a doe and three fawns in the back yard.
No photos but hoping they will return.
We have had many deer sightings but never triplets.   Usually the doe will have two in tow.
It was very exciting.

The beauty of the deer family made up for the fact that I had to go out in the yard and pick up  dead mole.  I gave it a decent burial (a toss in the woods).

Return of the Deer..Our first foursome...

While I'm having my annual physical, Joe is on the deck waiting for a hummingbird when the Fawn and her triplets return.

Hummingbird

This is not a ghost! We will continue to try to get photos of the hummingbirds. It is actually dark in color and the background being green, makes it difficult to get a good shot. We will keep trying and hopefully will capture the little twerp in a moment of stillness! Oh yah.

I took this photo this morning.
We'll keep trying and maybe we'll get a shot you can recognize!

Mother to be Doe with Fawn aboard

Choose your own title. I'm not sure this doe is with child but when a doe is pregnant they act a certain way and this one fits the bill.
In any case I got a good shot and that counts for something.

..View from the window

I've been trying to get a decent photo of a butterfly but when I approach the tree they fly away. So this is from the kitchen window. Color not as vibrant as in person but still pretty.

The Graduation Party

We had fun at the party. John and Kelley did a fine job. Good place, good food, good people.
We had a chance to visit old friends and meet new ones. We are not used to having this much fun so got very little sleep that night. Too much excitement for the old couple.
There was also a little impromptu entertainment thanks to Zoe  and Christian. John Mackenzie was also very entertaining, when he brought his family forward to give a toast/roast. Very funny and sweet. He gave praise to Kelley for being an extraordinary mother. I agree!
John is a great Dad as well.
