Mephitis mephitis ( I don't know why the name is repeated)

I thought these were the footprints of a raccoon. There was a path of prints along the sand, where we were bird watching.
 Upon further investigation I discovered it was a Mephitis mephitis, commonly known as a striped skunk. Thank God it didn't come out of the bushes!

I had about 4 cans of V-8 juice in camper. I don't think that would have done the trick!

    So Cute! I understand that skunks are quite personable. Better a skunk than aa bear!

    The actual prints were really cute. they look bigger in the photo but were quite petite.
