Every so often Joe casually mentions an event in his life that is new to me.
After 61 years you'd think that we knew the whole picture.
Last night he mentioned being in Fargo North Dakota. Really? Why? "Oh I was on a plane and we stopped there. It was so cold. The runway was covered in snow. It was DC-2. One of the first planes to carry passengers."
I started pumping him with questions. Apparently he was stationed in the Coast Guard in Seattle, he flew back to Chicago to see his mom. This flight was all he could afford at the time. The plane stopped in Fargo to pick up a few passengers.
