Lovely Day

Decided to get a photo before all snow melts.
Helleborus

Enjoyed singing this morning even though I wasn't excited about singing all chants. As it turned out it was a good experience.
Although I love the view from the west, my body said thanks for putting me in the east.
Stacey did a good job making sure we knew what we were doing.
Dr. Savage said we sounded like 18 year old women.. At my age I'll take anything that makes me younger in any part of my body.

Had a fun chat with Susan and Joanne about Susan being a Grandmother for the first time. Very exciting.

On the way home I drove with the beautiful snow flakes surrounding the truck. I felt safe with snow tires and the extra logs Joe put in back of the truck.
I stopped at Subway for a roasted chicken on flatbread, Joes loves this creation. I love not having to cook.

So we sat by the fire and enjoyed the lovely view.
What could be better?

Let Me Count the Blessings

Joe has been working on the motor home for several days which means he is in our building for hours. He joins me for meals unless he is having trouble with the job. He is willing to explain the problem. However, I understand very little of his narrative. I hate to see him struggle, but when he conquers the problem he is so happy that it seems worth it.
We are hoping to go to Yellowstone this year .
I hear a voice calling my name.  "Marti, I got it."

Let's have a cup of tea and celebrate!
Yesterday I was blessed with a sighting of two deer in the back yard. I opened our noisy sliding door to get a photo. the deer didn't even blink. "It's just the old lady. She's harmless."

Fifty years ago I gave birth to our fourth son, John.
 Happy Birthday John!

A Blessed Senior Moment

Joe and I abstained from meat last Wednesday & Friday.
Joe felt it necessary to tell June, who then went on about how could I possibly think it was Lent since Thursday we practiced music not appropriate for Lent.
Yah yah....I know . I also felt guilty for not attending mass on Ash Wednesday which hasn't happened yet.

Sorry God. Sorry June. Sorry all you perfect people who never make mistakes!

Katies Cats

Trying to put key in the lock 1993

Enlarge to see garden snake.

While trying to find a cat photo that would convince James, of Comic Blog fame, to continue his blog, I found Mom's photos of her beloved cats. This is before digital photos but still pretty good.
Will post when I figure out how to get them on the computer.
Joe is working  on the motorhome so I'll pester him later. The photos are worth the wait.

and a few more.

Turn your head sideways for the next one.

One of these days I may learn how to do this!

Happy Valentine's Day

Each year Joe and I refrain from buying cards. Instead, we share some of our favorites.
Since I have difficulty tossing out memories, we recycle. It works for us. Stand on your head to view the first one.

I'll let you guess which one has the message, "I can't give you anything but love".
Some images are worth a second look!

Food Music Fun and a Memorial

 2/11/12
Looking forward to dinner cooked by Liz followed by a fund raising concert at Sealth High School.
Zoey has a drum solo in the Denny Middle School Jazz Band.  The Middle School Jazz Band is quite good. The Sealth Jazz band is excellent. I'm looking forward to hearing all of them. Rev. Pat Wright will be there directing the Total Experience Choir.

2/12/12
Last night's concert was much more than were anticipated. Besides the expected Jazz Band performances we were treated to Reggae,  a family group who did just about every type of music and a memorial for Whitney Houston.  Rev. Pat Wright asked us to participate in singing Amazing Grace for Whitney. In closing she said "Rest in Peace Whitney". Everyone got out there gadgets and checked to see if she had died.
It was very sad and touching that Rev. Wright would be the one to make this fact known.
