April Flowers...A little late

                                        The Lamp ....blooms all year
My neighbor has this beauty. I waited a little too long to take photos.

Love the maple tree at this stage. Looks like hanging grapes.

Gotcha Focaccia!

A squirrel is not an unusual sighting but I thought this one was worthy of a photo.

They're back!

Four deer in our yard. As usual my camera was downstairs. By the time I was camera ready they had moved from the easy close-up shot to far away good luck shot. In spite of my ineptitude I will share the photos.

Peace at Last

We finally said goodbye to the freezer. James & Joe brought it to the recycling place this morning and with the help of a fork lift were free at last.
Yesterday, when the
recyclers were unable to load the freezer we called for help. Steve & Sergui helped Joe
get it into the truck. This was not an easy task. Steve was on his way to Idaho but took the time to help out.
Today James did a lot!
He  used the weed eater on the hill, cut wood, cleaned off the roof and helped put the top back on the truck.

What a blessing. We also had a nice visit. Lots of stories and laughs.

Thanks so much to Steve, Sergiu and James for all the help.

Down-sizing at MacKenzie Acres

This has been quite an eventful morning. Last night I decided to have a  Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich.  I told Joe it seemed too soft, he checked the freezer and discovered it was dead.
He wanted to find his multi-meter to check it out but it was out  in the building. So, we got a lantern,
wandered   across the  field to the building but the multi-meter was not  found. I'm usually good at finding things but since I didn't know what it looked like it was difficult.
Our freezer is at least 56 years old  we bought it used)  so we can't complain. Joe mentioned seeing a smaller one at Costco and thought we should go buy it. First we had to move the big freezer. I can't believe we actually moved it. We are certifiable!
We purchased it at Costco drove home. Joe drove to the building and  put a ramp in the truck. He drove down  the hill to the door of our downstairs. We slid the freezer down the ramp and managed to push the freezer into the basement.  It is now in place after lifting it out of its styrofoam base . Such fun!
We are still speaking!

This is our old freezer. 21 cubic feet

This is our new one. 7.1 cubic feet

Easter with Joe & Deb

After singing with choir for two Masses yesterday, it was so nice to be relieved of any cooking duties.
Deb had a delicious array of food and as always is a gracious hostess.
We met her Pastor and his family. Very nice family.
Summer taking a selfie. She was having fun.
                                            Joe  enjoying the comfy chair.

Spring at MacKenzie Acres

Hawk come's a visiting!

What a surprise this morning when I saw this hawk sitting on an old pump right in our front yard. It stayed long enough for me to do my old lady run downstairs to grab my camera.
