About my Birthday

First of all......thanks mom.
Enjoyed my birthday. Heard from all the children which always makes me happy.
John and Kristin treated me to dinner. Delicious. The topper was hearing the owls when I was in bed.
Love that sound.
Looking forward to tomorrow when Liz will drive Betty and me to Seattle to see June and Roger.

Steve and family were not able to attend the family picnic so we had a mini one yesterday.

                                               Steve                                    Svetlana
Lovely flowers from Svetlana and Lucia
                                            Lucia brought the white roses.

The Discovery Moment

This is the hornets nest we discovered.  We enjoyed the artistry but had to play it safe,

This is the canopy the family put in the yard. They fit 3 large tables, two fit under the canopy the other was an outsider.
A few of the photos I took at the Family Picnic. These are figs Liz brought covered with balsamic vinegar and Italian cheese.

It was so hot Liz and family put up a canopy. They also had a spritzer you could run through to cool off. I should have taken photos when it was completed, and people were visible, but my brain was fried.
The deck had a fan and I stayed there with Dan, Betty, Cindy, Arlene, Catherine, and my friends Mary and Mara. They put two tables under the canopy for Liz & Family, James & family, our sons Joe & Mike. In spite of the heat we enjoyed ourselves and shared some memories of Joe.

Trip to Mt. Rainier

John and Liz were kind enough to drive us to the beautiful Mountain.
For some reason there was a delay of 45 minutes. We had our nephew from Milwaukee with us and he seemed to enjoy the trip and didn't mind the wait. We visited and had some funny stories to exchange.

Here are some photos of our day.

At Peace

Joe passed away yesterday at 2:13 p.m. I had hoped I would be with him and it happened.
I will miss him but I am so happy that he is out of the painful life experience that was his for too long.
Our family has been so loving, helpful and supportive.
I thank Hospice for their much needed help and kindness.
Rest in Peace Joe.

NEW LIFE

Joe is reaching the end of his life on earth and will  be entering a new life.
To me it will mean peace of mind and happiness without worldly strife.
I won't know for sure until my cycle comes to a close but I am happy with
peace of mind and spirit.

RETURN TO THE BLOG

As soon as I have something interesting to share I will be back.
Right now my  only concern is Joe's happiness and peace as he struggles with many
health problems.
One positive is his discovery that he has a  loving family. The help we  receive
from our children never ceases to amaze both Joe and me.
I will elaborate later.
Time to check my fantastic husband.

Father Ed White blessed us with a visit.

We were so happy to see Fr. White today. He gave Joe the blessing of the sick and gave us both the Eucharist. We feel so fortunate. It has been a good day.

A Doe and two fawn in our back yard.

Sorry the photos are not good but the company was so welcome. They stayed for several hours.
I was in the middle of making biscotti when Joe spotted them.

It's been a while since I baked bread. Fun!

Joe is doing better especially since I baked bread, although he did say it was not quite as good as
my usual fare. Possibly because the yeast was out of date.  Really Joe? It was delicious!
