A Fruitful Day

We are in the process of readying our house for a paint job. We won't be painting until Spring but have a lot of preparation before the house will be ready.  I say "we" but it will be mostly Joe.
I moved everything away from the house today and am exhausted. Joe said the house looks naked.
I didn't realize how many planters, pots, potting stands, decorative paraphernalia we had around and about the house.
I've been working on a yard project but that will have to wait.
In the morning I'll be going to the dentist to get my new crown. Looking forward to getting that finished.
Joe has been working on some leaks in the roof of the deck. Busy, busy busy.

This morning I took photos of spider webs on the deck.  It is amazing to me how quickly spiders spin their webs. Last night I moved a planter from the front of the house to the deck. This morning a new webbed creation
stretched from the railing to the planter.

Just think of all I could accomplish if I was as productive as a spider!

Surprise!

We never expected to see a family of turtles. What fun!

Lake Washington Boulevard

We decided to go for a drive along the Lake.  The weather was perfect.  There is much to see amid the lily pads.

Temporary Home

The look on this boy's face says it all.

Passin' On By

"Don't Tell my mother. She thinks I have a real job."

I feel quite stupid. I just asked Joe who this man is supposed to be.
"He's walking. Those are not his legs".

I'm still laughing, so I guess it's worth it.

All The Pretty Little....

And Not So Little...

The barn with the draft horses is interesting, if you like seeing the back end of a horse.

Scaryland

Boo!
This would make a good Halloween card!

Judge Marta

While I was enjoying the artwork from High School students I was asked to choose my favorite. There were so many great works of art that it was difficult to make a choice.
I chose this one.The artist is a student at Rogers High School.

Quilts

We may have missed the area where the quilts are usually displayed but did see a few.

SILLYLAND

Joe wanted to take photos of the rides so off we went to Sillyland. So many crazy rides filled with adrenalin hungry people.

Garden Club Display and Competition

So pretty. One of the many flowers displayed was Sedum....I could've entered.

Garden Display

Love this part of the fair. So colorful and creative, not to mention all the work involved.

EAT YOUR HEART OUT

Yesterday we did the Puyallup. It's been quite a few years since we attended the Fair. We noticed improvements. Several new buildings, better facilities. The restrooms are clean and frequent.
The food is the same as always although we did manage to find a place to buy a chicken salad with dressing on the side. The most shameful food was the spot that sold deep fried twinkies.

The Family Garden

As a child I loved to go to Nonna's to see her garden. I remember her sitting under the pear tree shelling peas, cutting the tips off the string beans, or peeling apples.
Joe & I had our best garden the year Corky dumped a load of chicken manure on our property. The tomatoes did especially well. Children all helped weed and harvest. It was a family affair.
