Homemade decor

The rather crude nativity set was my effort to have the children be able to touch the scene. I was especially happy with the camel and the sheep. The quilt is handmade but not by me or anyone in this country!
I made many Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls for our children. Most are worn out from playful love.
As you can tell this is a kit sewn by me.
This is one of my favorites. I bought it at the bank. One of their customers asked to have it on display to see. Very well done.

These photos will save me time next year. I don't have to do it exactly the same way but if I have that desire the evidence is here.

Found treasure

Thanks to the person who left a tiny box of homemade chocolates on top of our china closet.
I had to eat the two morsels lest they spoil. Delicious! I do believe it was made by Liz.
Maybe she'll make more next year and you can again leave them on the cabinet for your dear mother.

Looking back at the photo board.

Betty and Cindy shared the photos that were on the display board at the Memorial for Lennie.

I attempted to take photos of a few of my favorites.

A Time for Reflection

New years Day at the Minardo Ravioli Fest is usually a wonderful day. You have an annual visit with relatives (mostly cousins) and enjoy great food.
This year was different. We recently lost Joseph Flanagan at age 25. The family thought about canceling the gathering but Joseph's family wanted to go on with the tradition.
Although we tried our best to support this tradition, there was  an aura of sadness.

Each year the family (minus Joe and Marti)  bet on the football games. They have a board with different scores at different times in the game. I have no idea what is going on but they seem to enjoy it. One of the brothers put the name Joseph on one of the squares and Joseph won.
It may have been a coincidence but the family felt his presence and felt it was fitting that he be the winner.
