Cape Perpetua etc.

Although my entire being is not as yet present I will attempt to write a few highlights and perhaps lowlights of our trip.  Is lowlights actually a word?

The road is long with many a winding turn ( recognize the lyrics).  Motorhome towing a car  from Renton to Cape Perpetua is at least a 9 hour drive. Since I am incapable of driving  this combination,
all the driving is done by Joe. By the end of our trip he was ready to turn me in for a newer, younger, more daring partner. We also had problems with the carburetor. Every time we drove up a hill it would sound like a battlefield of shots.

Now for some highlights.
A short drive up the hill from our campsite is the lookout built during the second world war. This is the view of the Oregon coast when the sky is clear.

This is the view in back of our site. Love the  sound of the creek at night.

This is view of the woods in back of site.

And site was level!  A rate occurrence.

  1. Sleeping on the level is always to be preferred. But in such a beautiful setting, I could put up with a little discombobulation.

  2. The problem is the refrigerator. It has to be level. Usually we just put boards under wheels until it is level. One time we used so many boards to get it even that Joe had to go to the lumber yard and build steps.
One of the advantages of camping in a tent.
