Memories... Read large print

After Gloria passed away, her Daughter Catherine sent me cards, letters I had sent to Gloria.

Here is a note that brings back the reality of raising children.

Dear Gloria, Norm and Family,
It was good to hear your voices on the phone and hear the news.
We are preparing for Christmas Season. Joe is on swing shift and it is probably a good thing as we are practicing twice a week for Christmas Choir and also preparing for a Penance Service.

We are going caroling with Cindy, Batty, Arlene, and some friends of Cindy. It should be fun unless it pours. Wish you could join us. Remember our phone caroling?

ELIZABETH AND JAMES TRUDGED OUT INTO THE WOODS AND DUG OUT TWO TREES FOR THEIR BEDROOMS. THE DOG LED THE WAY. WATCHING FROM THE WINDOW I FELT VERY CLOSE TO WALTONS MOUNTAIN. THAT EVENING IT CONTINUED WITH POPCORN POPPING, CRANBERRIES TO STRING AND PUT ON THE TREES.  THEN SUNDAY WHEN  IT WAS TIME TO LIGHT THE ADVENT WREATH, THEY WERE ARGUING OVER WHOSE TURN IT WAS, AND I KNEW EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL.
