Help save the environment!

Our son, James, sent this photo of his new tires.
I think it is very clever. However, I couldn't help but make a few corny remarks.

" Wooden it be loverly! Is it fir real?"
James answered" that is such an unfunny j-oak"
I'm beechless.

I couldn't stop. I sent another.

"My aspen is quaking with laughter!"

After a few more, James said,  if I didn't stop he would take hemlock....so I stopped.

GMGC Poster mini-miracle

Each choir member received  one poster of Great Music for Great Cathedrals to advertise our production.
We visited  June and Roger at Kenney Home last week. Since it is quite close to Olympic Print & Apparel, we decided to stop by and  see our son, John.  He is owner, manager and worker bee.
John agreed to put one of our posters in his window. He looked at it, noticed it was a little wrinkled, and asked if I needed a few more.  As he was printing them up, Kelley MacKenzie stopped at the shop to pick up an order for Our Lady of Guadalupe. Kelley asked for a poster for Guadalupe. Well, how good is this.
That Saturday Joe put one on the bulletin board at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Renton/Kent area. I brought the remainder to the music room at St. James.
And so, I was able to spread the word in three different places. The original poster is still in the truck!

Time for a change

Joe has been eating leftovers from the freezer since
Christmas. Not every day, but enough to get tiresome.
He suggested I make a rice pie so I obeyed!
The crust is brown or black rice with layers of veggies and salmon.
Pour a mixture of low-fat milk and egg or egg beater over the pie, and top with goat cheese.
If you don't eat fish, it is great with just vegetables.
It is low carb, gluten-free, and delicious.

Morning Visitor

I know. It's a rodent. We have many squirrel sightings but usually they stay in the woods or at least in the yard. This one sat right in front of the sliding door on the deck and was munching on the maple seeds that fall. It seemed a little chubby and I'm wondering if it is pregnant. It looks like it is too big to crawl through the railing. Very entertaining!
I decided to go downstairs for my camera but never expected it to still be on the deck.

                                         Weight watchers anyone?

More photos of Coulon...

Joe took the following photos. I had to stop as battery was dead!

A Walk in the Park

We drove to Coulon Park in Renton to see the Christmas lights and were treated to a beautiful sunset.
We finished our walk before the rain. After taking these photos the sky  changed to almost black.

We got some chowder to go, and headed home in the rain. We felt very fortunate. The timing was in our favor.

Minardo Ravioli Fest

In spite of having a bad hair day, a fever blister and a pimple, I had a great time.
It was great to see relatives. I didn't get many photos. The food distracted me from my photographic mission. A group photo was taken by someone . If it is forwarded to me I will share it.
But, I did get the most important members of the food committee!  Betty, her Daughter Cindy and the Daughters of Cindy, Jennifer and Stephanie.
                                         Stephanie    Betty           Jennifer
                                                                  Cindy
                                      Lennie Minardo.....Brenda and Ric Rosa
